A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 2:06 p.m. in effect until Saturday at 1 a.m. for Northern Erie.
The weather service states to be ready for, "Snow occurring. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches, mostly falling tonight. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph."
"Plan on slippery and snow covered road conditions with periods of reduced visibility due to lake effect snow," says the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission remind motorists to adjust speeds based on driving conditions as winter weather impacts Pennsylvania roadways.
