WELLESLEY - The latest edition of the oldest public school rivalry in the country will go to Wellesley this year.
Behind three all-purpose touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) from quarterback Bobby Shanahan, the Wellesley Raiders (6-5) finished their season with a win, defeating the Needham Rockets (3-8) 20-6 on Thanksgiving Day in Wellesley.
“It feels amazing, both of the varsity games I played in the last two years, I did lose both, so it feels great to play and win at home with everyone being here, thousands of fans, it’s amazing,” Wellesley guard and linebacker Brandon Hollingsworth said.
Wellesley got off to a quick start in this game, taking the lead on their first drive as Shanahan ran for a 25-yard touchdown to put the Raiders up 7-0 early.
