Interim Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has explained why Luke McCowan started in an unusual role against Feyenoord this evening.
As the Bhoys travelled to Rotterdam in the Europa League, McCowan, a natural central midfielder, started on the right wing in a front three.
Yang Hyun-jun got the nod on the left-hand side as Daizen Maeda played through the middle.
"I think the balance is something you are trying to grasp all the time," O'Neill told Celtic TV before his side's heroic 3-1 win. "Since [James] Forrest has gone out of the side, we don’t have someone who can play out and out on the right-hand side.
