1WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – Police have charged a Jersey City man in connection with a string of commercial burglaries that struck several Monmouth County businesses earlier this year.
According to the Wall Township Police Department, 34-year-old Dashawn Durant was identified and charged following a months-long investigation into a series of overnight break-ins that occurred along the State Highway 33/34 corridor in May.
On May 9, patrol officers responded to reports of burglaries at Perusa, Smokehouse Grill & BBQ, and the Roadside Diner. Investigators determined that forced entry had been made into each location during the night, with cash stolen from two of the businesses and extensive property damage reported.
