HERMON, Maine (WABI) - Every year on Thanksgiving, the Lynde Lodge in Hermon helps to serve hundreds of free meals, an ongoing tradition in the community since 2009.

“We have the same faces just about every year, and we have new faces ever year too, so it’s just a good community event,” says Lodge Master Justin Mockler.

Guests can help themselves to free meals by dining in, or by requesting a pre-made meal for take out.

“We got turkey, ham, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, squash, turnips, veggies, pies, everything you can think of, we got,” says Mockler.

Mockler says that the event continues to grow every year, requiring more hands to assist in the process.
