SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
A fatal crash shut down part of Interstate 79 in Washington County on Thanksgiving night, with icy road conditions reported in the area.

South Strabane first responders said 13 vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, were involved in the crash, which happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. on the flyover connecting I-79 northbound to I-70 westbound.
Emergency officials said a passenger in one car died at the scene. That person's name has not been released. A dog was also killed.
Pennsylvania State Police said they also responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-79 South at the Washington County-Allegheny County line. There was no immediate word on any injuries.
