PITTSBURGH —

Icy roads were being reported in western Pennsylvania on Thanksgiving night, just as many drivers were making their way home from holiday dinner gatherings.

The National Weather Service issued this special weather statement on Thursday evening:

"A light coating of snow has fallen on warm roads, bringing road temperature below freezing and turning any wet spots on untreated roads into ice. Slick spots remains possible through the overnight period. A few accidents have been reported. Use extra caution if traveling, particularly on bridges, highway exit ramps, and back roads."
