HUMBOLDT, Iowa (KTIV) - A Storm Lake man died in a crash on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Investigators with the Iowa State Patrol say 83-year-old Paul Bengtson of Storm Lake was driving in a 2020 Ford Edge SUV on Iowa Highway 3, about four miles east of Humboldt, shortly after 1 p.m.

According to a crash report from the Iowa State Patrol, Bengston reportedly crossed the center line, overcorrected, and went into a ditch, rolling multiple times.

The Iowa State Patrol says Bengston did die as a result of the crash.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Humboldt Fire Department helped the Iowa State Patrol during the crash investigation and cleanup.
