PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) - For many people, Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate the good things in life.
But for the family of Jada Bright, it’s a reminder that everyone’s days here are numbered.
“Jada was a daughter, she was a sister, she was an aunt,” sister-in-law Jennifer Bright said.
The 23-year-old was a senior at the University of Southern Mississippi in November 2018 when her life was cut short.
“She had just filled out internship paperwork for the New Orleans Saints,” said Bright.
Jada Bright was traveling Interstate 59 near Lumberton on Nov. 22, 2018.
Her sister-in-law said that Bright was heading to New Orleans to join her family on a Thanksgiving cruise.
“I remember we had just pulled up to the port, and we got a phone call that said don’t get on the ship,” said Bright.
