MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - More than 150 volunteers came together on Thursday to help Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Madison provide a Thanksgiving dinner to hundreds of people on the city’s southwest side.

Organizers of the events say volunteers came from all around the community.

“Every year, we have a nice mix of members and people from the community, “said Outreach Pastor Dara Schuller-Hanson. “Some people have come every year for decades to volunteer. For them, this is how they celebrate Thanksgiving – to serve others.”

Many holiday staples were featured in the meal, including turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, cranberries, and pumpkin pie.

Volunteers said they love being a part of this experience.
