A fire at a boarded-up house rekindled late Wednesday night, hours after firefighters first extinguished the blaze in the 800 block of 24 Road.
The Grand Junction Fire Department first arrived at the scene shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a news releases about the fire, after a 911 caller reported smoke and flames coming from the building, which was unoccupied, according to firefighters.
But responders were called to the scene once again shortly before midnight for a second round, according to another press release shared by the City of Grand Junction on Thursday, which described the structure as “fully involved, with flames spreading to nearby trees and a fence” after it went ablaze yet again around 11:41 p.m.
