Downtown Hilo is set to shine once again as the Lions Clubs of East Hawaii prepare to host the 2025 Downtown Hilo Christmas Lights Parade on Saturday. The festivities begin at 6 p.m., bringing what organizers describe as an evening of holiday enchantment for the entire community.

Building on last year’s additions, parade-goers will again get to help choose winners in several playful award categories. The community-voted honors include:

— Kaiaulu Award, the people’s choice favorite;

— Menehune Magic Award, recognizing the best entry featuring keiki;

— Holiday Mele Award, for standout musical performances;

— Festive Trooper Award, highlighting the top marching or walking group;

— Shakakalikimaka Award, celebrating the most spirited participants;

— Winter Buggy Award, honoring the best
