Marisa Shulman, medical director at Riverview Animal Hospital says when preparing food, it's important to be cautious.
"We have this tendency, your pups come up, your cat comes up and they're just begging," she says. "They're so adorable and you want to share that Thanksgiving dinner with them but don't do it. It's just not worth it."
She says yeasty dough can be very upsetting to pets stomachs, so avoid feeding them any breads.
Fatty foods can be very dangerous.
"We know like the skin of a turkey or like ham fat, things like that, those really rich foods can create things conditions like gastrointestinal upset," she says.
Shulman says it can even lead to pancreatitis, which can be fatal.
