Set on the banks of the Seine River in France and housing iconic masterpieces like the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and the Winged Victory, the Louvre is Paris's national art museum and the world's most visited museum.

From January 14, 2026, American tourists and visitors from outside the European Economic Area (EEA - EU, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein) will have to pay 45% more to visit the Louvre as part of a push to raise funds for a long-needed renovation of the museum.

The change comes just days after the U.S. Department of the Interior announced a significant price jump for international visitors to U.S. national parks , for similar reasons.
