Proposals have been revealed to merge two Kent schools with an information event planned for next month. The plan is to merge the girls' school Walderslade School and boys' school Greenacre School in Chatham to create one co-educational school from September next year (2026).
The Beyond Schools Trust said this move would build on the partnership between the schools created through The Walderslade and Greenacre Schools Partnership (WGSP). This already "unites" staff, leadership and other aspects of school life, but the mergers would create a single school.
Students go to either of the two schools, which are side by side on the campus off Walderslade Road, and they share sporting and performing arts facilities. They also mix socially but receive all lessons at Key Stage 3 in a single s
