GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - Brothers With Voices held a prayer walk Thursday morning to kick off Thanksgiving Day.

The event was open to anyone who wanted to join as they walked from the Courthouse Pier area to Jones Park and back. The group held a prayer before the walk and continued praying during the walk.

The event was designed to inspire love and hope in one another.

“It means everything to me that you can have all these men together from different backgrounds, different ways of life. That inspires me. That’s what really pushes me,” said David Simmons, Brothers With Voices President.

This was the first year of the event. Simmons said he wants to do it again next year.
