EAST GRAND RAPIDS, MI – East Grand Rapids residents are fighting the city over a controversial development project that has proposed to add six new buildings to Gaslight Village.

Residents have filed two petitions with the city aimed at halting the project, which was advanced to the final planning phase last month after commissioners narrowly approved its conceptual plan.

The city has since put the plan on pause as a lawsuit filed by residents plays out in court.
