Martin Lewis has issued a warning to millions of workers who will be paying tax for the first time, or paying more tax, thanks to Personal Allowance and Income Tax policies extended in the Budget on Wednesday.

The money expert explained how the freeze on the Income Tax Personal Allowance, which was first introduced by the Conservative government in 2021, has now been extended by Chancellor Rachel Reeves for another three years.

He then warned that the result of the two freezes, adding up to a decade in total where the Income Tax thresholds have been stuck in place, means that millions of workers will either start paying tax on their income for the first time or will move to a higher tax bracket during the period.
