FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Atlanta Falcons kicker Zane Gonzalez was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week, the NFL announced Wednesday.

Gonzalez was responsible for 10 of Atlanta's points in Week 12 as the Falcons snapped their five-game losing streak with a 24-10 victory against the New Orleans Saints at Caesars Superdome. In addition to an extra point, he made field goals from 41, 54 and 56 yards out.

"He's provided that operational peace," Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said. "He's done a nice job of doing that. He's provided a lot of steady hand for us when it comes to those things."

It was the third time Gonzalez had multiple successful field goals of 50 yards or more in a single game. He has played in 72 career games and made 14 of his 22 attempts from that distance overal
