The Haverford Police Department’s annual basketball game against the Haverford High School boys and girls combined team at Juenger Gym this week was, well, a blowout, with the youths rolling to an “easy victory” 87-53, said Sgt. Rob McCreight

The game is part of a series between the police department and the high school to promote positive relationships among officers and students.

The youths have had an easy time of it recently on the basketball court against the older team, including a blowout a year ago .

That hasn’t been the case in the fall friendly on the football field where the police came out on top in September.

The spring baseball matchup has also gone the way of the youths the past couple of years.

It’s all in good fun and community building.
