Runners will hit the streets this weekend for the 55th annual UW Medicine Seattle Marathon, as the race unveils a new route that won’t require runners to do a leg on Interstate 5 express lanes or circle Green Lake. Here’s what to know.
When is the race?
Registration and bib pickup are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at The Westin Seattle, 1900 Fifth Ave.
The kids marathon is at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The half-marathon kicks off first, at 7 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 30.
Athletes going the full 26.2 miles start at 7:30 a.m.
What’s the new route?
Both the full marathon and the half-marathon start at Seattle Center at Fifth and Harrison, finishing at Pier 66.
