BEREA — Brock Purdy's last trip to Cleveland was an unpleasant one for the San Francisco 49ers quarterback.
The Week 6 game in 2023 was played on an overcast low-50s October afternoon. The weather wasn't as much an issue as the Browns ' defense was for Purdy, who hadn't won his first 10 career starts at that point.
What defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz's unit did in what ended up a 19-17 Browns win was hold the quarterback to what is still a career-low 44.4% completion percentage (12-of-27), just 125 passing yards, forced his first career interception and sacked him three times. It's something he hasn't forgotten as the 49ers get ready to come back to the shores of Lake Erie to face the Browns Nov. 30. Buy Cleveland Browns tickets
