MONROE, La. (KNOE) - On Nov. 28, 1943, the three key allied leaders in World War II began a four day meeting in Tehran, Iran.

U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin coordinated military strategy.

It included the launch of Operation Overlord the following May.

The framework for a post-war plan was established.

The Soviet Union also agreed to support Roosevelt’s plan for the United Nations.
