For the second year in a row, most of Northern Michigan experienced some fairly heavy snowfall over Thanksgiving.
Starting Wednesday night through Friday morning, snow blanketed the area with the totals varying as some areas near the water got a few inches while others inland received as much as two feet, according to Jim Keysor, staff meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Gaylord.
"Some of the variability occurred within a county. If you look at the southwest corner of Otsego County near the Crawford County line and Frederic area, they got 22 to 24 inches," said Keysor. "Gaylord received about six to 10 inches."
