For decades, Dzen Tree Farm in South Windsor has provided Christmas trees for families across the state.
Owner John Dzen said it takes 11 months of preparation to get to opening day in November, which is tradition the day after Thanksgiving.

“It’s a Christmas tradition,” said Thomas Reid, who says his family has been coming for 10 years.
Families traveled from all over to pick out their perfect tree.
Allie McVay traveled from Ellington and said it’s also a tradition in her household, and the McVays wasted no time.
“It was the first nice one we saw,” she said after lugging a tree up the hill with her husband Nate. “With three kids, we’re like, this is the one.”
