The Michigan State Spartans take on the top-seeded Stanford Cardinal in the 2025 NCAA Women’s Soccer Quarterfinals on Friday evening.

The Spartans are having the best run in program history. While the team managed to qualify for the national tournament in each of the past four seasons, Michigan State has never made it beyond the Third Round.

That has changed this year. Thanks to a resilient bunch, MSU responded after losing to Washington in the Big Ten Championship match by coming out swinging in the Stanford regional, beating Milwaukee and Wake Forest to move on to the Round of 16. The Spartans then upended Colorado last Sunday to advance to the quarters.
