SANDPOINT, Idaho — A pretrial conference for a Boundary County woman charged with child sexual abuse is slated to take place Dec. 1 in preparation for a trial that has already been postponed twice.

Long-time Naples resident Katherine Cowell, 51, is facing two charges of lewd conduct with a minor for alleged incidents that took place between 2012 and 2015.

If found guilty, she could be sentenced to life in prison for having allegedly been involved with sexual contact of a minor. Her husband, Richard Cowell III, 55, pleaded guilty to similar charges in July of criminal conspiracy and lewd conduct with a minor, for which he was sentenced to serve 17 years in prison before being eligible for parole.
