Dan Stacey still remembers the first time he performed in Japan and the unexpected reception he received.

After arriving late to his first show, he was surprised when he was taken to the stage through the building’s lobby. However, that surprise quickly turned to shock when audience members started applauding simply because he was performing in the show.

“It was quite a shock compared to what happens over here. You kind of have to learn your stripe or earn your stripes, so to speak, over here. But the fact that you are on the program was enough for them to be on board with what you were doing, and they hadn’t even seen me perform yet, so I noticed a big difference that way,” Stacey said.
