Alex Rose was sworn in as an at-large member of Allegheny County Council on Friday during an intimate ceremony attended by a handful of family and friends at the county courthouse.
The ceremony comes after Mr. Rose’s victory Nov. 4 in a special election against Councilman Mike Embrescia, a Republican. Mr. Embrscia had replaced former at-large Councilman Sam DeMarco, who stepped down to work for U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Pa., earlier this year.
“It is the end of a long, successful journey,” Mr. Rose said following the ceremony. “It feels very nice.”
