Michigan football captain Max Bredeson rolled out of the restricted wing of Schembechler Hall and into the Towsley Museum on Tuesday like a banged-up vet heading to the sideline. Scooter under him, right foot locked into a walking boot.

The tight end/fullback exited the first half of U-M’s win over Maryland and showed up after the break on crutches. Earlier this week, coach Sherrone Moore didn’t sugarcoat it, admitting Bredeson’s X-rays “didn’t look great.”

Still, to his credit, Bredeson kept the door cracked. He said the real call would come later in the week, depending on how things progressed.
