For the first time in what was a long time, the Southwestern Lady Warriors may have to make room at the top in the girls’ basketball hierarchy in the Lake Cumberland area, as the Pulaski County Lady Maroons are set for what may be a special year.
With former head coach Brian Miller returning to the sidelines, the Maroons have quite a skilled roster in his first season back. Senior Madeline Butcher led the team with 17 points per game last season while shooting 31% from three-point range and 80.7% from the free throw line. She also is joined by her backcourt partner from last year in fellow senior Hannah Murray, who averaged 8.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game last season.
