PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Penn State senior Nick Singleton is having himself a day vs. Rutgers.
After becoming Penn State’s all-time leader in rushing touchdowns (44) and career touchdowns (54) in the first half, Singleton passed PSU great Saquon Barkley after intermission to become the program’s all-time leader in all-purpose yardage.
Entering the game, Singleton needed 136 yards to pass Barkley, who was at 5,538 yards.
Singleton, who had 128 all-purpose yards af halftime -- 81 rushing, 38 on kick returns and nine receiving -- broke Singleton’s all-purpose yardage mark with a 14-yard reception from quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer early in third quarter.
The catch put Singleton at 142 yards for the game and 5,545 yards for his career.
