OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - On Saturday, old man winter made his first official visit of the season to the metro.

“The kids were up late waiting for it to come, and they were just real excited,” said Dundee resident Joel Kraus. “We had gotten the sleds the day before and so we are prepared we are ready to go out and enjoy the winter weather.”

For some of the kids in the neighborhood, fresh snowfall means getting outside for a favorite winter activity.

“I like to play board games inside and like have hot chocolate with my friends and family,” said Georgie McIlvain. “We also have some parties at my other friends house and we also go sledding.”

Or knocking out chores, like clearing the driveway.
