SALT LAKE CITY — Two people were killed in a crash early Saturday morning caused by a driver who was allegedly driving under the influence.

According to Cpl. Luis Silva with the Utah Highway Patrol, the alleged DUI driver was heading the wrong way going southbound on Interstate 15 from 600 south in the northbound lanes at 2 a.m.

Silva said the vehicle crashed into another vehicle head on, killing Anneka Wilson and her boyfriend, Leo Shepherd, in the car it hit and injuring the driver of the wrong way vehicle.

“(The) driver (of the wrong way vehicle) is suspected to have been driving under the influence and has been arrested,” Silva said.

Northbound I-15 was temporarily closed at 2100 south for about seven hours after the crash.

A GoFundMe was set up for Wilson’s family.
