Tonight, the community was able to enjoy holiday festivities at the Reno City Plaza for the annual Christmas tree lighting festival.
Guests were able to enjoy local food and drink vendors, live music, merchandise, and activities for families, like face painting, a train ride, and a visit from Santa himself.
Mayor Hillary Schieve says, "Events like this bring our community together, and I can't wait to turn on the Christmas tree lights and see the holiday magic come to life." She added that the growth of the festival has been great to see.
"The tree lighting is getting bigger and bigger and bigger. It goes to tell you they want to come together. They want to celebrate, and they want to enjoy their community."
