With a punishing ground attack on Saturday afternoon, the Adrian football team showed that it is truly one of the state’s premiere football programs.
The Antelopes picked up a dominant 44-8 victory over Crosspoint Christian at Redmond High School, closing a second consecutive undefeated season and lifting the class 1A (8-player) state championship trophy for the second year in a row.
The last time Adrian lost a game was Nov. 11, 2023, a 58-32 loss to Myrtle Point in the state quarterfinals.
This is Adrian’s fifth state championship, and fourth since 2019. Dating back to the team’s first appearance in the state finals in 2014, the Antelopes have never lost a football title game.
