The Utah Mammoth will have to hope for some good news after one of their top young forwards was forced to leave Saturday’s game with an injury.
Logan Cooley was helped off the ice following a dangerous collision.
Cooley suffered a lower-body injury in a knee-on-knee incident with Blues forward Alexey Toropchenko.
The play resulted in immediate discipline from the officials, who assessed Toropchenko a five-minute major and game misconduct penalty for kneeing.
The sequence occurred during play when Toropchenko appeared to lead with his leg while attempting to check Cooley. The impact sent the Utah centre crashing to the ice in visible distress.
Trainers attended to Cooley for several moments before he was assisted to the dressing room. He was unable to put any weight on his left leg as
