A former member of the Penticton Curling Club is suing the organization and seven of its members for alleged mistreatment.
Kelly Douglas from Penticton claims in a lawsuit that the defendants assaulted, intimidated and harassed him.
Douglas’ first claim stems from a Ladies Bonspiel on Nov. 25, 2023, when a female defendant shoved and insulted him because he didn’t want to talk to her. Later, she falsely accused him of spreading rumours that two of the other defendants – a male and a female – stole from a 50/50 fundraiser.
A male defendant aggressively confronted Douglas at the Ladies Bonspiel.
Two other defendants are alleged to have physically assaulted and verbally harassed Douglas and his spouse, causing them to leave the Ladies Bonspiel.
