KNOXVILLE - Diego Pavia was a one-man wrecking crew Saturday against Tennessee and the result was a Vanderbilt pummeling of the Volunteers.
The Vanderbilt quarterback out-gained the entire Tennessee offense by himself as he finished with 433 total yards, running 20 times for 165 yards on 20 carries and 18-for-28 for 268 yards through the air. The Commodores destroyed UT’s defense, racking up 582 yards of total offense. They held the Vols to minus-6 rushing yards in the second half.
The Commodores keep their slim playoff hopes alive as they move to 10-2, 6-2 in the SEC and it’s the first time Vandy has reached the 10-win plateu in school history. Tennessee slips to 8-4, 4-4 in league play. The only team UT has beat this year who has a winning record is FCS-member East Tennessee State.
