Christopher Newport University’s postseason run ended on Saturday as the Captains fell 42–28 to Susquehanna University at TowneBank Stadium. The River Hawks, now 10–2, seized control early with a pair of first-quarter touchdowns and maintained a steady cushion throughout the game. For CNU, the loss brought an end to a ten-game winning streak this fall and a 15-game streak dating back to last season, closing the year at 10–1.

Susquehanna’s defense played a major role in the outcome, intercepting three passes from CNU quarterback Connor Barry and recording five sacks. Barry, the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, threw for 148 yards and a touchdown while also scoring twice on short runs.
