Tulane coach Jon Sumrall was non-committal about his future on Saturday after the Green Wave (10-2, 7-1) clinched the host role for next Friday’s American Conference championship game against North Texas, beating Charlotte 27-0.

Sources confirmed he was heavily considering an offer from Florida to be its coach, with a decision expected Sunday morning. Auburn, which also was pursuing him, appears to be out of the picture.

“I want tonight to be about this team,” Sumrall said when asked about his coaching status. “I will talk to (athletic director) David Harris a little bit tonight, and my wife I will talk in the morning. Any opportunities I ever have really have a lot to do with so many other people than myself. I love this place. I love Tulane.”
