Multiple people were arrested Saturday at an anti-ICE demonstration in Lower Manhattan, New York, according to WABC.

Video footage showed protesters holding placards, chanting and shouting at police officers. Some protesters were seen being loaded into vans by police.

According to the NYPD, the protesters blocked streets, buildings and exits in and around Canal Street.

WABC reported that protesters had said they were trying to prevent another large-scale ICE raid, at least two of which were conducted on Canal Street over the past month.

The area has seen repeated Federal law enforcement activity.

New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's transition team released a statement in response, describing immigration raids as "cruel and inhumane."
