South Point football’s famed “Redbone” offense had been rolling during a six-game win streak, averaging 383 rushing yards and 50 points per game. While the Red Raiders’ vaunted rushing attack offered glimpses of their capabilities during their Nov. 28 NCHSAA 5A West semifinal, the Crest defense was again up to the task.
The Charger defense again stood tall against South Point, limiting it to 197 rush yards in a 28-14 victory in Belmont. Averaging nearly 10 yards per carry during its six-game win streak, the Red Raiders earned less than half that on 44 attempts Friday night.
