The first time I saw Gov. Josh Green asked if he would run for president, during a national TV interview early this year on his opposition to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for health secretary, he looked surprised and muttered, “I’d have to ask my wife.”
As the question has come up more often in the course of the year, Green’s answer has turned more to “maybe,” and the “maybes” seem to be getting stronger. Sometimes he brings up the subject himself.
The Hawaii Democrat has traveled frequently to Washington and other political hot spots, drawn more TV appearances, sought leadership roles in governors’ organizations and set up his own PAC to promote health care.
