THE BBC has refused to issue a public correction after Laura Kuenssberg made false claims about a UK Government deal for shipbuilding on the Clyde.
In an episode of the Laura Kuenssberg show on October 12 the presenter claimed the UK Government was spending £10 billion on Clyde shipbuilding in an interview with First Minister John Swinney .
The BBC has admitted this commentary was incorrect in an apology shared on social media by a complainant, but has refused to issue any public correction.
The Twitter/X account MSM Monitor has said despite the BBC saying Kuenssberg summarised the situation correctly later on in the programme, the error "still breaches BBC guidelines" and "must be acknowledged".
