One last time for the Penn State report card in the regular season.
The Nittany Lions beat Rutgers 40-36 on Saturday in Piscataway, N.J. to improve to 6-6.
It looked like the Scarlet Knights were going to improve to 1-10 vs. PSU in Big Ten play. But a late Lions defensive touchdown proved to be the difference.
Here are my grades for four Penn State positions.
RUNNING BACKS: A. Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton were difference-makers. The seniors combined for 34 touches, 347 rushing-receiving yards and three touchdowns. Allen’s 226 rushing yards were a career-high.
CORNERBACKS: D. A deep group, the Rutgers’ effort was probably right there with what happened against PSU against Ohio State. Not good at all. The Lions allowed 338 passing yards and three touchdowns. Top corner A.J.
