The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 6:35 a.m. on Sunday for heavy snow until 7:15 a.m. for Northern Clinton and Northern Lycoming as well as Tioga and Sullivan counties.
"At 6:33 a.m., a band of heavy snow was located near Hyner, moving northeast at 70 mph," says the weather service.
Locations impacted by the alert include Blossburg, Renovo, South Renovo, Arnot, Glen Union, Waterville, Hyner, Ralston, Ogdensburg, Cammal, Slate Run, English Center, Shunk, Buttonwood, Little Pine State Park, Trout Run, Liberty and Ski Sawmill Ski Area. The snow can accumulate up to a rate of one inch per hour in this band of heavy snow. Be prepared for hazardous driving conditions.
