North Korea staged a big show for its air force Saturday, with leader Kim Jong Un and his daughter taking part.

State media said it was the 80th anniversary of the air force and broadcast a long video on Sunday, a day after the event. It is common for North Korean media to report news a day or more after it happens.

The video showed some of North Korea's Soviet era jets, as well as new drones and an advance warning intelligence gathering plane, which have been seen before in North Korean state media.

Kim Jong Un appeared in his big black leather coat, and his daughter was also wearing a similar black leather coat. She was shown wearing large sunglasses while watching the air show.

Kalma Airport is on the east coast of North Korea, right next to the city of Wonsan where there is a big new tourist development. North Korea rebuilt the airport and held a big air show there in 2016, but it does not yet have any regular international flights.
