A Sunderland cycle hub has rebranded as Wear Wheels as part of a mission to promote cycling and wellbeing across the city. The former St Peters Cycle Hub, run by Sunderland Community Action Group, has secured three years of funding through The Rank Foundation, allowing a move to a new dedicated workshop in Leechmere Industrial Estate.
The new base will support Wear Wheels in expanding its services and outreach, offering a central hub for repairs, community engagement, and cycling education.
