Adapted from the 1813 novel written by the late British author Jane Austen — who was born on Dec. 16, 1775 — the film premiered in the U.S. on Nov. 23, 2005, and starred Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet and Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Darcy.
